St. Paul's-Trinity is the home for the United Way/Canadian Mental Health Association Northern Huron Connection Centre in our downstairs parish hall. The Connection Centre’s purpose is to offer wrap-around supports for anyone in the Wingham and the larger Northern Huron community who are in need; by providing trauma informed care, case management, basic needs such as warming/cooling and showers, laundry, food.
St. Paul’s-Trinity initiated and along with the Salvation Army, coordinates a weekly “Free Lunch” at the downtown Salvation Army location, and serve on average 65 meals each Wednesday. Originally beginning with 4 local churches, now 7 churches participate.
We also co-ordinates a joint "Birthday Cake" ministry with Trinity Blyth. A birthday cake, icing, pan to cook it in, and candles are packaged together for the North Huron and Salvation Army foodbanks. Over 180 kits have been donated to date!
St. Paul’s-Trinity collects regularly for the local food bank, does an Easter-craft outreach for shut-ins, hosts a St. Nicholas Eve Children’s event each December, a back-pack and school supply collection for the Salvation Army, collects for the ‘I Love First Nations’ shoe-box campaign.
